NOC Soccer Student Athletes of the Week are Josh Peters, Gifty Ayew Asare and Kayla Mireles.

  Representing the men is Josh Peters, a sophomore defender from Tulsa.

  "Josh has had a great year for the Mavericks," said men's head coach Michael DuRoy.   "He has worked so hard over his career to become the defender that he is today.  He is very hard to beat because of his athleticism, footwork, and ability to flip his hips and change direction so quickly.  Players like Josh are becoming rare.  He didn't play much his freshman year, but he stayed patient, worked incredibly hard, and improved to become a player that started every game this year." 

  The NOC women's Soccer Student Athletes of the Week are Kayla Mireles and Gifty Ayew Asare. 

"Gifty scored four goals against Seminole on Sunday and is only four goals away from breaking BreAnn Tolleson's school record," said head coach Juan Castillo.

  Kayla Mireles scored a hat trick against NEO last week.

  "She works hard on the field and is a game changer.  She is also very competitive," Castillo added.
