Lady Mavs Defeat Eastern

Lady Mavs Defeat Eastern

The Lady Mavs were able to reflect on the scoreboard what happened on the field on Thursday. We need to understand that Eastern it's going trhough a rebuilding process and that was part of the reason why Coach Castillo made some changes in the starting line up. There are also players recovering some minor injuries and coach Castillo decided to give them some rest as well. The players understood this but still tried to put in practice what they have been working on during the season. It was a semi slow pace for the first half but still Northern was ahead 2-0 with only 5 mins in. It would be a total of 4-0 for the first half and coach Castillo would've used everyone on the bench. By the second half the Lady Mavs scored 11 goals. Northern is looking now to finish their regular season undefeated which doersn't happen since 2011.

Impressions on the Game:

Coach Castillo: "We knew that Eastern has been struggling this season. I think the best part of this game for us was that the girls were able to finished the majority of the chances that they've created. We understand this won't happen in Regionals but we also had to play this game as part of our season, the girls did it and took the game seriously but always respecting their opponent and for that I'm proud of them. Now we have to focus on our next game this Sunday and work hard to get to Regionals in the best way possible".
