Twin Power

Twin Power

Rachel and Rebekah Brantley are in their second year at Nothern and they are very unique kinds of players. They come from Broken Arrow High School and played club soccer for TSC. But not like everyone else that starts at a very young age playing competitive. They played rec soccer from 6th grade all the way up to 11th.

"The twins are the type of players that you see everywhere in the world on the men's side and are worshiped," says Coach Castillo. "They are short, very light and quick but with tremendous technique and a high soccer IQ. It wasn't easy for them to adapt to my style of play. On my teams no one is more important than anyone else. They all have to work hard and play for eachother with and especially without the ball. But now they set the standard for our philosophy. You won't find anyone that works as hard throughout the game like the twins. They play as if they were 5'11" and 170lbs, it's just a spectacle for soccer lovers. They also carry a 3.8 GPA."

"Having the opportunity to continue my education and play the sport I love at NOC is an experience that I am going to be forever thankful for. I am surrounded by such a positive and encouraging team that continues to push me to work harder on and off the field. Playing under coach Juan and coach Robb has shown me a unqiue coaching style that continuously challenges me and helps me improve as a center mid and a person," said Rachel Brantley.

"Playing at NOC under coach Juan and coach Robb has been an incredible experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life. They have been a mentor to me as well, and significantly encouraged my growth in confidence on the field and as a versatile player, flexible to transition critical positions during games. Coach Juan has helped me improve in aspects most coaches do not cover well enough and has made me become a player I never knew I could be," added Rebekah Brantley. "It has been such a pleasure to play with my teammates these past 2 years. I could not have asked for a better group of girls to have by my side and I'm truly blessed to have been able to play alongside all of them. They have helped me grow as a teammate and as a leader."

The Women's team start their conference games this thursday when they visit Rose State at 3PM and come back to play in Tonkawa on Sunday at 2pm against Murray State.
