Lady Mavs Profile: Gavriel Myers

Lady Mavs Profile: Gavriel Myers

A newcomer for the NOC Lady Mavs program is Gavriel Myers, a transfer from Oklahoma Wesleyan.

She is a graduate of Caney Valley High School.

Why you chose NOC?  I like the small town atmosphere, it reminds me of my hometown.  The school is not too big and I like the other players on the team.

What is your major and what are your career goals?  I am double-majoring in Pre-med and Business.  I plan to attend Physical Therapy school.

Is it challenging to balance academic changes and athletics at NOC?  No, you just have to communicate with your teachers and manage your time wisely.

What life experiences have helped you in college athletics?  It helps you grow as a person and helped me learn to manage time better.

What is different about college athletics from high school athletics?  For me, it's helped me grow as a player and teammate.  I am very dependent on my teammates and trust them.  Also, it is more fun and I enjoy competing.

What advice would you give high school students in choosing a college or university?  I have been to both and juco is something you will love forever.  If I had to choose again, I would choose juco first instead of a four year school.

What do you do in your spare time?  I love hanging with my family and friends.  I enjoy going to the lake and just being outside.
