Lady Mavs Profile: Mia Brown

Lady Mavs Profile: Mia Brown

A returning sophomore for the NOC Tonkawa Lady Mavs is point guard Mia Brown from Mustang.

Brown started as a freshman for the Lady Mavs in 2018-19 but redshirted last year after an injury in early January.

Why Brown chose NOC?  After exploring my school options, I felt like NOC Tonkawa was the best fit for me.

What is your major and what are your career goals?  I am a HPER & Pre-Med Major.  My career goals are to either play professionally overseas or work as a Physician's Assistant or an Anesthesiologist.

Is it challenging to balance academic changes and athletics at NOC?  It is challenging because you have to make sure you're on top of your school work and constantly grinding to get better for your sport.

What life experiences have helped you grow in college athletics?  I've learned and grown so much from previous experiences.  I don't want to go into details but I've learned that I'm never alone and not be afraid to reach out and seek help from someone when it's needed.

What is different about high school athletics verses college athletics?  The pace is a lot faster and the competition is more challenging.

What advice would you give high school students when choosing a college or university?  Make sure they have your academic field and that the atmosphere is right for you.

What do you do in your spare time?  I'll either go to the gym or lay in bed and watch television.
