In women's action at the Foster-Piper Fieldhouse Monday night, the Lady Mavs lost to Murray State 89-65.

The Lady Mavs are 3-22 on the year.

The Lady Mavs battled the Aggies (18-9) and 10-4 in league play the first half trailing just 38-30.

Murray then pulled away late in the third quarter taking a 64-45 lead.

"Tonight, there was improvement on defense, especially in the first half," said coach Greg Krause.  "But we shot so poorly from the field that we fought uphill the whole game. Add in too many turnovers and we made it a tough night on ourselves. We're still working hard to establish some momentum going into the playoffs."

Chideyah Guyton led the Lady Mavs with 16 points while Hannah Maples had 13.  Cassie Manning added 11 and Lauren Coates 10.

Coates added nine rebounds for the Lady Mavs.

NOC travels to Western for Region 2 games Monday night.
