ENID, Oklahoma --  The NOC Lady Mavs got off to a hot start against NOC Enid Thursday night but couldn't keep the hot stretch going losing to the 17th ranked Lady Jets 97-66.

NOC (3-11) fell to 0-2 in conference play.

Hannah Maples led the Lady Mavs with 19 points while Chideyah Guyton added 11 and Radina Zhivachka had 10.

The Lady Mavs jumped out to a 24-17 lead after one quarter hitting five 3-pointers in the opening period.  The Lady Mavs led 39-28 until late in the first half when the Lady Jets went on a 13-0 run to take a 41-39 halftime lead.

The second half was all Lady Jets as they built as much as a 31 point lead.

"We had a pretty good beginning," said coach Greg Krause.  "But when shooting turns cold it becomes difficult to stay in a game. We'll use Christmas break to work on making improvements heading into the rest of our conference schedule."
