Lady Mavs lose to National Park 69-53

ENID, Oklahoma -- National Park blew open a close game after three quarters outscoring NOC 24-9 in the final period to win 69-53 in the Jets Classic.

The Mavs are 2-6 on the year and face Garden City at 1 p.m. Friday in the Stride Bank Center in downtown Enid.

Carlee Murray and Hannah Maples led the Lady Mavs with 20 and 14 points respectively.  Murray also had four blocks.  Radina Zhivachka led the Lady Mavs with seven rebounds while Maples had six rebounds and two steals.

NOC trailed National Park 57-53 midway in the final period but National Park went on a 12-0 run to end the game.

NOC shot just 23 percent from the field and 15 percent from 3-point range.

"Poor shooting was the main story," said coach Greg Krause.  "We struggled the whole game, but the poor fourth quarter shooting did us in. At some point offensive struggles negatively affect your defense. We need to shake up the lineup and try to fire up some scoring."
