A freshman on the NOC Lady Mavs' basketball team is Carli Sadler from Ripley, Oklahoma. At Ripley, Sadler played for coach Doug Scott who also coached her father.
"Coach Scott was like a father to us," Sadler said. "He would do anything for us and I always appreciated it."
Sadler is excited about the Mavs prospects for 2019-20.
"I am very excited," she said. "I enjoy being around teammates who love basketball. To play at this level, you have to love the game and I can't wait to get started."
Sadler comes from an athletic background, her brother Casey is a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Both Casey and Cory both played baseball at Western Oklahoma State College in Altus. Cory is studying to become a surgeon.
NOC's first scrimmage is Oct. 4 against Southwestern in Winfield, Kansas.
Sadler plans to study Nursing.
