Tahanee Bennell and Deon Berrien were named NOC Tonkawa Basketball Student Athletes of the Week

Bennell is a sophomore from  Turners Beach, Tasmania, while Berrien is a sophomore from Augusta, Georgia.

For the week, Bennell averaged 22 points, five assists, three steals per game, shot 12 for 22 from the field, and 16 for 18 from the free throw line.

"Tahanee is playing aggressively which is helping us on both ends," said coach Greg Krause.  "She is creating points with her offensive and defensive effort. Her veteran leadership is going to be crucial in the stretch run of conference play."

Berrien averaged 13 points and nine rebounds in two Maverick wins.

"Deon had a great week for us in our two wins," said coach Donnie Jackson.  "He contributes all across the board and his skill set is invaluable to our team.  When he has an aggressive mindset, he is tough to handle because of his versatility."
