NOC Tonkawa's Omar Boone and Mia Brown were named Student Athletes of the Week for Jan. 28.

Boone is a sophomore guard from Oklahoma City while Brown is a freshman guard from Mustang.

Boone had a career high 41 points in a 104-85 win over Murray State last Wednesday.

He set a school record with 11 3-pointers, breaking the old mark of nine set by Brett Weiberg and Brian Reinhardt.  Boone was 13 of 19 from the field scoring 41 points on just 19 shots.

"Omar has been playing at a high level," said coach Donnie Jackson.  "He has bought into bringing consistent energy every day.  He has a hunger and desire to be a great player and a great student."

Brown led the Lady Mavs with 18 points and six assists in a 75-62 win over Murray State last Wednesday.

"In Mia's first game back since December, she contributed to a big conference win with 18 points, six assists, four rebounds, three steals, and shot 8 for 12 from the field," said coach Greg Krause.  "She will continue to play a major role for us coming down the stretch."
