Freshman guard Mia Brown scored 18 points in a NOC 75-62 win over Murray State Wednesday night.

NOC (5-12) improved to 2-5 in league play while Murray State (5-13) fell to 2-5 in OCAC play.

Hannah Maples added 13 and Chelsea Rhoades 12 for the Lady Mavs.

"Our man-to-man defense was better," said head coach Greg Krause.  "We're helping quicker and rebounding better, but still room for improvement. Getting some roster depth back is really helpful. Mia (Brown) did a great job handling the point guard position. Hannah (Maples) did an outstanding job on both ends and gave us a big boost offensively."

NOC built a 40-27 halftime lead but saw Murray State cut the lead to 64-57 midway in the final period.

The Lady Mavs then dominated the final four minutes outscoring Murray State 11-5 to win going away.

NOC hosts Western Monday night at 5:30 p.m.
