"Our number one priority in the NOC Athletic Department is to help our student-athletes graduate," said NOC Athletic Director Jeremy Hise.   "We are proud of our athletic and academic tradition.  We look forward to another successful spring semester in the classroom and on the playing field."

NOC President Dr. Cheryl Evans applauded the athlete's work in the classroom.

"Northern is focused on our students' academic progress," said Dr. Evans. "We are proud of NOC players and coaches prioritizing their time and energy so that our student athletes succeed in the classroom as well as their athletic endeavors.  I applaud their efforts resulting in these great GPA accomplishments. "

Hise said that baseball earned a 3.40 GPA which would have placed them in the top 10 nationally.

He added that cheer earned a cumulative GPA of 3.00 for the second time since 2015.

Five of the seven programs earned a cumulative GPA of over 3.00, Hise said.

NOC Tonkawa's athletic program includes men's soccer, women's soccer, softball, baseball, cheer, men's basketball and women's basketball.
