Lady Mavs lose to Coffeyville 72-57

NOC dropped their first game of the second semester to Coffeyvile Saturday afternoon at the Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.

The Lady Mavs played without starters Mia Brown and Carlee Murray losing to Coffeyville 72-57.

NOC (3-9) trailed 34-31 at half but Coffeyville outscored NOC 21-5 in the third quarter to take a 52-39 lead heading to the fourth quarter.

NOC wouldn't get closer the rest of the way.

"Our rotations were too slow in our half-court and full-court defenses," said coach Greg Krause.  "We didn't shoot well against their zone defense. We have a week of practice and two non-conference games before our conference schedule re-starts. That will give us an opportunity to get some good work done."

Chelsea Rhoades and Tatiana Jones led the Lady Mavs with 12 points while Taylar Watkins and Hannah Maples had 11 each.

Tahanee Bennell had 10 rebounds and eight assists for the Lady Mavs to go along with seven points.

Jones added five rebounds off the Lady Mavs bench.

NOC travels to Crowder (MO) on Thursday before hosting the Oklahoma Angels Saturday at 2 p.m.
