Lady Mavs lose at NOC Enid 76-64

ENID, Oklahoma -- Freshman guard Carlee Murray hit eight 3-pointers for the Lady Mavs (3-8) but it was not enough as the Lady Mavs lost to NOC Enid 76-64.

Tahanee Bennell added 16 and Taylar Watkins 15 for NOC Tonkawa.

NOC Enid got off to a hot start taking a 26-16 first quarter lead building a 45-29 halftime edge.

The Lady Mavs cut the lead to 51-42 midway in the third quarter on a Hannah Maples' basket but the Lady Jets countered with a 9-0 run to end the quarter.

The Lady Mavs made another run to start the final quarter cutting the lead to 66-57 on a Murray 3-pointer but NOC Enid answered that run with a 6-0 run to put the game away.

"Enid is playing well," said head coach Greg Krause.  "It was good to see Carlee (Murray) score consistently. I thought Tahanee (Bennell) did a good job. That may have been one of Taylar's (Watkins) best games this year. We look for Taylar to continue to improve every game and become a big factor for us."

The Lady Mavs fell to 0-3 in conference play.
