Lady Mavs fall to Seminole

SEMINOLE, Oklahoma -- The NOC Lady Mavs fell to 7-12 on the year losing to the Seminole Lady Belles 91-83 Monday night.  The loss dropped the Lady Mavs to 3-5 in conference play.

Tahanee Bennell and Hannah Nealis combined for 53 points but it was not enough as NOC lost to Seminole by eight.

NOC got off to a slow start Monday trailing Seminole 15-6 after the first quarter but sophomore guard Hannah Nealis scored 16 points in the second quarter to cut the Seminole lead to 36-31 at half.

NOC took a brief lead in the 3rd quarter but Seminole rallied to take a 62-50 lead heading into the final quarter.

Freshman guard Tahanee Bennell had 14 points in the final period for NOC but it was not enough as Seminole held on 91-83.

"They jumped on us early," said head coach Greg Krause.   "We had a nice run in the second quarter to pull close at half. We grabbed a lead in the third quarter but couldn't hang on. Our defense wasn't strong enough when we needed it. Seminole played a good game.
