Sophomore Hannah Nealis scored 28 points and Tahanee Bennell hit a key 3-pointer with :38 left to lead the NOC Lady Mavs to a 75-70 win over Arkansas Baptist Friday at the Foster Piper Fieldhouse.
Friday's win improved NOC's record to 4-9.
"It was a good win coming off Christmas break," said head coach Greg Krause. "Playing games is the only way to get back game conditioning and timing."
The game was tied at 46-46 starting the fourth quarter when Nealis scored 11 straight NOC points to give the Lady Mavs a 57-52 lead.
Arkansas Baptist then took a 69-67 lead with 1:58 remaining before Bennell hit her game changing 3-pointer giving NOC a 70-69 lead with :38 left in the game. Nealis then converted five free throws down the stretch to seal the 75-70 win.
Nealis scored 16 points in the fourth quarter. She connected on 6 of 10 from the 3-point line for the game.
"Hannah was big for us," Krause added. "She provided a big offensive spark and kept us in the game."
Chideyah Guyton came off the NOC bench adding 13 points on 5 of 7 shooting. Point guard Tahanee Bennell added 11 points while Sabela Reigosa added 10.
Reigosa and Kaitlyn Hodgins led NOC with five rebounds.
