Mavs rally to earn split with Ft. Scott

NOC Tonkawa rallied from seven runs down in the 6th to beat Ft. Scott (KS) 16-13 Sunday afternoon in Tonkawa in Game 2 of a doubleheader.

The Mavs lost Game 1, 15-11.

In Game 2, the Mavs trailed 13-6 heading to the 6th where the Mavs scored 10 runs on nine hits, two walks, and two Ft. Scott errors.

Hannah Endicott and Allison McGowan had three hits each while Endicott drove in three runs.

Ryllie Shipp, Kerik Brown, Abigail Farris, and Fayth Hoover had two hits each while Shipp, Brown, Farris, McGowan, and Leach drove in two runs each.

Jordan Johnson, Shiloh Roberson, and Ashlyn Robyler worked in the circle with Robyler earning the win with three scoreless innings of relief.

In Game 1, Ft. Scott scored five runs in the 8th inning to beat the Mavs 15-11.

NOC trailed 6-0 before battling back to tie the score at 11-11 with four runs in the 7th.  Ft. Scott then pushed ahead five runs to win 15-11.

Shipp had three hits, three runs batted in and three runs scored from the lead-off position.

Brown, McGowan, Jaci Johnson, and Elyssa Kaniatobe had two hits each.

Brown had three rbi's for the Mavs while Abigail Farris and Kaniatobe had two each.

Roberson worked in the circle for the Mavs.

The Mavs (4-8) are at Cowley (KS) Monday at 1 p.m./3 p.m.
