Northern Oklahoma College has hired Tori Wilde to lead the Maverick softball program.
Wilde, a native of Perry, is a graduate of NOC (Class of 2013) and Oklahoma State University. She has been the head softball coach at Pawnee.
"I am ecstatic to be a Maverick again and help student athlete's progress to the next level," Wilde said. "I have high hopes for the year and expect nothing but success for the softball program."
NOC Athletic Director Jeremy Hise is excited about the hire.
"Tori is an impressive young lady who I think will do great things with our softball program," said NOC Athletic Director Jeremy Hise. "She played for the Mavs softball program and has since made a steady climb up the coaching ladder. The turnaround she has orchestrated at Pawnee High School has been amazing. She has impressed a lot of people along the way with her knowledge of the game and passion for her student-athletes. We are excited to welcome Tori back to the Mavs family."
NOC President Dr. Cheryl Evans added, "I am looking forward to having Tori join the Northern family and leading the Mavericks softball team. She brings great enthusiasm and expertise."
Wilde pitched and played first base for coach Karie Linsenmeyer at NOC and then was an assistant coach at Perry High School in 2013 before rejoining Linsenmeyer as an assistant at Stillwater High School in 2014.
Wilde then accepted the head coaching position at Pawnee where she coached the previous three seasons. She led the Lady Black Bears to a 31-7 record in 2018 reaching the Class 2A State Semi-Finals. In three years, he record at Pawnee was 71-27.
During the summers, Wilde coaches the Exclusive college prep teams and provides private instruction to young student athletes.
Wilde replaces Kadie Berlin, who accepted the head coaching position at Temple (TX) Community College August 12.
In 2019, the Mavs were 42-21 and placed 3rd in NJCAA Region 2.
Wilde begins her duties at NOC on Aug. 26.
