PONCA CITY, Oklahoma -- Northern Oklahoma College tuned up for the NJCAA Region 2 Softball Tournament hosting Cowley College in a doubleheader in Ponca City on Tuesday.
The Mavs (39-19) won the first game 8-1 and dropped the nightcap 7-2.

Kyia Monahwee homered and doubled driving home two runs leading NOC past Cowley 8-1 in Game 1.
Aylin Nunez added three hits and scored two runs. Madison Kettler added two hits as well.
The Mavs led 2-1 until the 4th when NOC plated six runs in the 5th and 6th to blow the game open.
NOC out hit Cowley 12-2.
Taylor Lane (19-10) started in the circle pitching 4.1 innings of no hit softball. Jenna Chassie and Morgan Rohwer also pitched for the Mavs.
Cowley 7, Mavs 2
Cowley gained revenge in Game 2 winning 7-2.
Monahwee and Emily Poindexter had runs batted in for the Mavs while Kettler walked four times.
Chassie was the starter for the Mavs while Lane (19-11) and Kylie Garrett pitched in relief.
NOC faces Rose State in the NJCAA Region 2 Tournament Thursday at Seminole State College. First pitch is at 6:30 p.m.
