NOC softball earns split against NEO

PONCA CITY, Oklahoma -- The Northern Oklahoma College Mavericks split with NEO Sunday afternoon in Ponca City in the final regular season games for 2019.

NEO won the first game 9-1 while the Mavs won the second game 5-3.

NOC (38-18) finished the regular season third behind Seminole and NEO in Region 2.

NEO 9, Mavs 1

The NEO Lady Norse won Game 1 over NOC 9-1.

Kyia Monahwee had two hits for NOC including a double and a run scored.

Madison Kettler and Aylin Nunez had singles for the Mavs.

Taylor Lane (18-10) allowed three earned runs in 2.2 innings in the circle.

Mavs 5, NEO 3

In Game 2, Monahwee and Sarah Rienke each drove in two runs and Jenna Chassie (18-6) allowed one earned run over seven innings in a 5-3 Maverick win.

Baylee Scrimshire and Rachel Rumsey added two hits each.

Chassie allowed just three hits and struck out four.

Sunday's games were moved due to wet grounds at NOC's field.

The Mavs travel to Seminole for the Region 2 Tournament Thursday at Seminole when the Mavs tangle with Rose State.
