ALTUS, Oklahoma --  The NOC Tonkawa Mavericks ran the winning streak to 12 games with a doubleheader sweep of Western on Tuesday.

The Mavs (31-11) are 13-5 in Region 2 action behind Seminole and NEO.

Mavs 13, Western 3

Emily Poindexter hit a grand slam as the Mavs pounded 15 hits in a 13-3 five inning run rule over Western.

Sarah Rienke had three hits and two runs batted in for the Mavs whole Rachel Rumsey, Katelyn Yee, Madison Kettler, Kendall Heisler, and Liz McKellip had two hits each.  Yee and Rienke had two runs batted in each.

Taylor Lane and Kylie Garrett combined in the circle for the Mavs allowing three earned runs striking out six.

After trailing 1-0 early, the Mavs scored nine runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings to take a 9-1 lead.

Mavs 11, Western 4

The Mavericks had 11 hits, all singles, in an 11-3 win over Western in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

Baylee Scrimshire, Aylin Nunez, and Yee all had two hits each.  Nunez stole five bases and scored two runs.  Kettler also had two runs scored.

Jenna Chassie combined with Lane in the circle allowing three earned runs on seven hits.

The Mavs broke the game wide open scoring seven runs in the 5th.
