Kyia Monahwee continued her hot hitting as The Northern Oklahoma College Mavs swept NOC Enid in Region 2 action Thursday in Enid 6-2 and 3-1
For the second consecutive series, the sophomore from Morris hit a home run in each game for the Mavs (27-11). The Mavs are 9-5 in Region 2 play.
Mavs 6, NOC Enid 2
The Mavs scored four runs in the 1st inning and cruised to a 6-2 win over the Jets.
Katelyn Yee keyed the inning with a two run single scoring Sarah Rienke and Rachel Rumsey. Monahwee's home run scored Baylee Scrimshire with the Mavs' final two runs in the 7th.
Taylor Lane (13-7) went the distance allowing two runs on three hits.
The Mavs out hit the Jets 7-3.
Mavs 3, NOC Enid 1
The Mavs jumped out to a 3-0 lead and held on for a 3-1 over the Jets completing the sweep.
Monahwee's second home run of the day scored Aylin Nunez in the 3rd inning and the Mavs led 3-0.
Jenna Chassie (14-4) allowed just one run on three hits.
Madison Kettler had three hits for the Mavs while Nunez added two hits and two steals.
NOC Tonkawa out hit the Jets 9-3.
