Mavs split one run games at Butler County

EL DORADO, Kansas --  Kendall Heisler homered to propel Northern Oklahoma College to a doubleheader split at Butler County in the first games back from spring break.

Mavs 5, Butler 4

Kyia Monahwee led NOC (18-6) with two hits including a double and two runs batted in as NOC jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings.  Butler rallied to within 5-4 in the seventh but Taylor Lane slammed the door earning her first save of the season.  Lane allowed one run over three innings, she relieved Jenna Chassie (10-1) who allowed three runs over four innings.

Heisler, Emily Poindexter and Rachel Rumsey each had runs batted in for the Mavs.

Heisler's home run came in the second inning giving NOC a 5-0 lead.

Butler 1, Mavs 0

NOC lost the opener 1-0 with Butler scoring the game's only run in the third.

The Mavs had three hits, all singles by Monahwee, Rumsey and Baylee Scrimshire.

Lane (8-5) was the tough luck loser allowing one unearned run while striking out four.
