Mavs softball loses road games at Connors

WARNER, Oklahoma --  NOC Softball dropped two games to Connors Thursday afternoon at Warner.

NOC (20-25) lost Game 1 in walk-off fashion 2-1 and then dropped the night cap 5-1.

In the first game, NOC jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Farrah Bonds reached on a fielder's choice and later scored on an error.

Connors tied the game at 1-1 in the third and the scored remained 1-1 until the seventh when Connors won the game with a two-out single.

Taylor Lane went the distance allowing just two hits and one earned run.  She struck out three.

NOC had three hits, all singles by Madi Baughman, Savanah Mundell and Rylee Turman.

In Game 2, once again NOC jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Baylee Scrimshire scored on an error off the bat of Mundell and the Mavs had the early lead.

Connors then answered with two runs in the first and three in the fourth to take a 5-1 lead and the win.

NOC had three singles in the second game by Scrimshire, Baughman and Liz McKellip.

Lane started Game 2 for the Mavs with Baughman and Jakayla Whitney pitching in relief.
