Mavs Softball drop two one run games to Cowley

ARKANSAS CITY, Kansas --  NOC lost two one run games to Cowley Thursday afternoon in Arkansas City.

The losses dropped the Maverick's record to 9-4.

In Game 1, the Mavs rallied from 6-2 with three runs in the 7th but came up just short.

In the 7th, Baylee Scrimshire and Savanah Mundell both singled with Scrimshire scoring on a Farrah Bonds ground out.  With two outs, Rylee Turman was hit by a pitch.  Morgan Rohwer and Jordan Graham both singled back to back cutting the lead to 6-5 but Keylee Kirk grounded out to end the game.

Mundell and Graham each had two hits, Graham had two rbi's.

Taylor Lane took the loss in the circle allowing three earned runs on six hits.

In Game 2, the Mavs lost a wild 14-13 decision once again a late Mav rally fell short.

NOC trailed 14-8 before scoring five runs in the 6th cutting the margin to 14-13.  Cowley was able to hold on for the one run win.

NOC out hit Cowley 15-14.  Scrimshire and Jakayla Whitney each had three hits while Baughman and Bonds added two each.  Bonds, Scrimshire and Rohwer drove in two runs each.

Baughman started in the circle with relief help from Graham, Whitney and Kylie Garrett.
