Mavs beat Oklahoma Wesleyan JV in rain shortened game

The NOC Maverick Softball Team improved to 7-2 with a 5-3 win over Oklahoma Wesleyan JV Friday afternoon.

The game, shortened by rain in the 6th inning, was played at Ponca City's High School field.

NOC trailed 1-0 in the 2nd inning before answering with three runs in the bottom half.

In the second, Kayden Burtner singled and scored on an error,   Bailey White and Jakayla Whitney later scored on the same wild pitch and NOC led 3-1.

Leading 3-2, the Mavs struck for a run in the 5th as Madi Baughman singled and scored on a base hit by Rylee Turman

With a 4-3 lead in the 6th, Farrah Bonds was hit by a pitch scoring Baylee Scrimshire with the Mavs 5th run.

Madi Baughman had three hits for the Mavs, Taylor Lane picked up the win in the circle.

NOC hosts Barton County on Sunday at at 1 p.m.  The double header will be played at Ponca City's High School Field.
