The NOC Maverick Softball Team improved to 7-2 with a 5-3 win over Oklahoma Wesleyan JV Friday afternoon.

The game, shortened by rain in the 6^th inning, was played at Ponca City's High School field.

NOC trailed 1-0 in the 2^nd inning before answering with three runs in the bottom half.

In the second, Kayden Burtner singled and scored on an error,   Bailey White and Jakayla Whitney later scored on the same wild pitch and NOC led 3-1.

Leading 3-2, the Mavs struck for a run in the 5^th as Madi Baughman singled and scored on a base hit by Rylee Turman. 

With a 4-3 lead in the 6^th, Farrah Bonds was hit by a pitch scoring Baylee Scrimshire with the Mavs 5^th run.

Madi Baughman had three hits for the Mavs, Taylor Lane picked up the win in the circle.

NOC hosts Barton County on Sunday at at 1 p.m.  The double header will be played at Ponca City's High School Field.
