Northern topped Eastern Oklahoma State College in the Region 2 Semifinal 3-1 Saturday night in Miami, Oklahoma.  Eastern scored just three minutes into the game on a through ball that was misplayed by the Mavericks.  The Mavs found the equalizer midway through the half with Jesus Aleman blasting a shot past the Mountaineer goalkeeper.  Leonardo Fogarty picked up the assist.  Northern would take the lead with just over a minute left in the first half off a free kick.  Jaime Ponce headed in Brian Romero's free kick.  Alex Ramirez scored his first goal as a Maverick midway through the second half to put the game away.  Once again Romero was credited with the assist.

"The boys played well.  It was an extremely fast game.  Eastern played really hard and well.  It was a challenge as it should be in a region semifinal.  Jaime Ponce was tremendous in the back.  Jesus Aleman worked hard up front.  Overall I was pleased with how the team played." Coach Michael DuRoy
