  On the NOC Men's Soccer team, there are currently three international players from England; sophomore Prince Dom Afriyie from London, sophomore Reece Harrison and freshman John Woodhead from Newcastle.  They spoke about what it was like to be at the same college, in a different country and from the same town.

  The two from New Castle this semester are Reece Harrison and John Woodhead. Harrison and Woodhead live only five minutes apart from each other.

  "We would see each other only out and about, but never just a meet and greet," Woodhead said about his visits with Harrison.  Woodhead also says that they have different friend groups and they went to different schools. He heard about Northern from Harrison, so therefore, they had known each other before college.

  Chris Barauni was another international player on the team from London last year.

  "I did not know Chris before I came here," said Afriyie.  "When I found out that he was from the same country, the same town, and only 30 minutes away, I was shocked and very surprised."

  Barauni is currently at Northwestern College in Iowa;

  The three players from England are making a significant impact on the team.  Afriyie, a forward, has started all ten games, has three assists and two goals.  One of which was a game winner.  Harrison, a midfielder, has started nine games and been a spark for the Mavs, playing with relentless effort.  Woodhead has started six games for the Mavs, scoring one goal and adding one assist.

  The Mavs currently have a record of 5-4-1 and are unbeaten in their previous four games. Their next game will be at home Thursday Sept. 28th vs Southwest Christian University JV at 2 p.m.
