Northern eased past Eastern Oklahoma State College 2-1.  Jaime Ponce got the game started on a good note for the Mavs scoring a goal just three minutes into the game.  Prince Dom Afriyie picked up the assist.  The rest of the first half was played fairly evenly with Northern taking nine shots with three on goal and Eastern taking five shots with three on goal.  Northern created four corner kicks and Eastern three.

Northern, as they have in almost every game this season, dominated the second half.  Prince Dom Afriyie scored the Mavs second goal seventeen minutes into the second half.  Rojay Smith crossed the ball to Afriyie who slid past a Mountaineer defender tapping the ball in from point blank.  The Mavericks generated sixteen shots in the second half forcing nine saves.  Reece Harrison and Victor Bernal both had shots that seemed destined to go in before amazing saves by the Eastern goalkeeper.  The Mountaineers were only able to get three shots off in the second half, but were able to make things interesting by scoring a goal with just forty seconds left in the game.  The Mavericks were able to run the clock out and pick up the win.
