Mavs lose on final possession at Eastern

WILBURTON, Oklahoma --  Khobe Austin-Johnson and Omar Boone had 22 points each but it wasn't enough as NOC (11-7) lost at the buzzer 91-88 Thursday night at Eastern.

Thursday's game was the first Maverick game without leading scorer Trevion Lamar who is out indefinitely with an injured foot.

"We played hard," said head coach Donnie Jackson.  "Some guys really stepped up, we played well enough to win just fell short."

Deon Berrien also reached double figures with 15 while Mike Downing added 12.

Berrien added 12 rebounds and seven assists.

The Mavs shot 50 percent from the floor (32-64).

Eastern (16-1) improved to 4-1 in conference play.  The Mavs dropped to 2-2 in conference play.
