Mavs open conference with thriller over Seminole

Northern Oklahoma College opened conference play Tuesday night with a 66-64 thriller over Seminole at Foster Piper Fieldhouse in Tonkawa.

Sayvon Traylor's conventional 3-point play and a Trevion Lamar free throw gave NOC a 66-64 win over Seminole to open conference play.

The Mavs (7-3) trailed the Trojans 63-62 with :46 left when the Traylor basket and free throw gave NOC a 65-63 lead.  After the Trojans made one free throw cutting the lead to 65-64, Trevion Lamar was fouled and converted one at the line to give the Mavs a 66-64 lead.

NOC made two final defensive stands stopping two Seminole shots within the game's final seconds.

Lamar led the Mavs with 18 points while Deon Berrien added 12, Khobe Austin-Johnson 11 and Keiodre Perry 10.

NOC led by as many as nine in the first half before the Trojans rallied taking a 54-52 lead with 8:44 remaining.
