Northern Oklahoma College athletics has selected Mia Brown and Deon Berrien as Student Athletes of the Week for Nov. 26.

Brown, a freshman from Mustang averaged 17 points, 5.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and shot 60 per cent from the field.

"Mia (Brown) is handling the point guard position very well, especially for missing a week under concussion protocol, and being a freshman," said head coach Greg Krause.  "She has been very strong taking it to the basket and she's doing a good job defending the ball."

Berrien, a sophomore from August, Georgia, scored 32 points in three games and added 34 rebounds for the Mavs during the past week.

"Deon (Berrien) had a great week," said head coach Donnie Jackson.  "He controlled the glass against Independence and was all over the floor with his back cuts, defense, and chasing the ball.  If he does that consistently, watch out because he has that in him."
