Mavs fall to NEO 60-57 in Region 2 Semi-Final

SHAWNEE, Oklahoma --  The NOC Tonkawa Mavericks ended their season Friday night losing to NEO 60-57 in the Region 2 Semi-Final at OBU.

Friday's loss ended the Mavs season at 24-8 while NEO improved to 22-8.  NEO will face Connors in the Region 2 Final Saturday afternoon.

The Mavs led NEO 55-47 with just under 5:00 to play but NEO outscored the Mavs 13-2 down the stretch.

NEO took a 56-55 lead with 2:36 remaining and built the lead to 58-55.  Two Keiodre Perry free throws cut the lead to 58-57.  The Mavs got a stop but turned the ball over with :15 left. 

After NEO made two free throws with :12 left, the Mavs had one final possession but Demaree King's forced 3-pointer from the corner was off the mark.

Trevion Lamar led the Mavs with 15 points while Keiodre Perry had 11 and Amir Allen 10.  Allen and Lamar each had nine rebounds for the Mavs.

NOC shot 36 percent from the field while NEO shot 45 percent.  NOC out rebounded NEO 39-29 but had 17 turnovers to the Norse's 12.

NOC led by as many as 14 in the first half at 28-14 and led the Norse 33-24 at half.
