Mavs lose road game to NEO 63-54

MIAMI, Oklahoma -- The NOC Mavs dropped a conference road game to NEO Monday night at Miami.

The 63-54 loss dropped the Mavericks to 19-5, 8-2 in conference play.

NOC fell to second place in the conference standings with a 63-54 loss at NEO.

"We struggled to make shots against NEO's zone," said head coach Donnie Jackson.  "We got some good looks around the basket, they wouldn't go down."

"We guarded well enough to win the game but some untimely turnovers in the second really hurt," Jackson added.  "It felt like a game where the first team to 60 would win and that's what happened."

NOC shot 31 percent from the field and 29 percent from 3-point range.  The Mavs had 17 turnovers.

Monday's game was tied at 25-25 heading to the second half when NEO made their late run to earn the 63-54 win.

Chris Hamil came off the NOC bench to lead the Mavs with 12 while Khobe Austin-Johnson added 11 and Amir Allen 10.

Trevion Lamar and Anselm Uzuegbunem had six rebounds each.
