The NOC Mavericks won their seventh in a row Saturday with a 91-74 win over Labette.  Six of the seven wins have been by double figures.

Freshman guard Khobe Austin-Johnson led the Mavs with 19 points while Trevion Lamar added 16, Amir Allen 15 and Chris Hamil 12.

As they have often done in this winning streak, the Mavs jumped out early on the Cardinals building a big early lead.  NOC led 19-6 early and led by double figures the entire first half building a 50-36 halftime edge.

Labette cut the NOC lead to 70-64 with 7: 26 remaining when the Mavs went on a 15-4 run to seal the win.

Austin-Johnson had eight of his game high 19 points during that stretch.

"That was a great win heading into break," said head coach Donnie Jackson.  "Labette played a different style than we had seen so it was good to win a game we had to think a lot more.  I hope it allows us to carry momentum into next semester."

Jackson praised freshman guard Khobe Austin-Johnson for his work on Saturday.

"Khobe has been playing at a high level," Jackson said.  "The intensity that he brings and passion for the game fueled our team on Saturday."

NOC hosts Next Level Hoops Academy on Jan. 5.
