Reynolds, Lamar named NOC Tonkawa Student Athletes of the Week

NOC Tonkawa's Student Athletes of the Week for Dec. 4 are Violet Reynolds and Trevion Lamar.

  Reynolds, a sophomore from Houston averaged 15.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game last week shooting 52 per cent from the field.

  "Violet has been nursing knee soreness but is gradually feeling stronger," said Lady Mav head coach Greg Krause.   "She is a high percentage scorer and one of our leading rebounders. We're looking forward to her consistent play heading into heavy conference play."

  Lamar, a freshman guard from Savannah, Georgia, averaged 19.6 points, and 8 rebounds per game in three NOC Maverick wins last week.

  "Trevion had a big week," said Maverick coach Donnie Jackson.  "He keeps improving and more importantly, so is our team.  I'm proud of his efforts and he keeps improving on the little things, his game will continue to take off.  I attribute his award to his teammates as well.  They are starting to believe in each other."
