Trevion Lamar named NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week

NOC Maverick freshman Trevion Lamar was named NJCAA Region II Player of the week for Nov. 27 – Dec. 3

  Lamar, a 6-5 freshman guard from Savannah, Georgia, averaged 19.6 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in two games last week.

  Lamar had 26 against Hill College on Saturday.

  For the season, Lamar is averaging 14.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.  He is shooting 40 percent from the 3-point line.

  "Trevion had a big week," said Maverick coach Donnie Jackson.  "He keeps improving and more importantly, so is our team.  I'm proud of his efforts and he keeps improving on the little things, his game will continue to take off.  I attribute his award to his teammates as well.  They are starting to believe in each other."
