Mavs Blast Link Year 119-93
The NOC Mavericks used a 73 point second half to put away Link Year Prep 119-93 Tuesday afternoon at Foster-Piper Fieldhouse in Tonkawa.

Tuesday's win improved NOC's record to 7-3.

Amir Allen led six NOC players in double figures with 23.  Chris Hamel added 20 for the Mavericks while Khobe Austin-Johnson added 17.  Elafayette Stone and Keiodre Perry had 12 each while Trevion Lamar added 10.

"I thought this was a great way to head into the break," said head coach Donnie Jackson.  "We battled through some adversity in the first half, had a good talk at halftime and the guys came out with some juice to start the second half.  We are starting to share the ball better and make better reads.  We just need to be keep getting better defensively.  Now we are 0-0 heading into conference play and need to keep improving if we want to compete in the region."

The "juice" that Jackson referred was a 16-5 run to open the second half.  NOC held a 46-42 halftime lead but the early run gave the Mavs a 62-47 lead.  Link Year Prep cut the lead to 71-60 but the Mavs answered with a 6-0 run.

The Mavs poured it on late with a 12-0 run to end the game.

NOC made 15 3-pointers against the Lions.

NOC travels to Western on Tuesday in the first conference game of the season.
