MAVERICK FIELD

The Maverick Athletic Complex, located just South of the main campus, is the home to Maverick baseball. Since opening, the baseball field has had many renovations making it among the best facilities of its kind in Oklahoma.

Improvements are essential with any facilities and Head Coach Ryan Bay and the Maverick Baseball staff work hard each year to make sure the Maverick Baseball facilities continue to improve. Since taking over the program in the fall of 2014 Coach Bay has been a part of repainting the pressbox, dugouts, and outfield fence, while also installing new seatback bleachers, new side fences and a brand new ten inning scoreboard with a velocity reader. The Mavericks have also recently bought a new sound system for both the field and the Indoor Hitting Facility, installing Turf Bullpen mounds and a covered bullpen seating area. Coming soon to the field will be a state-of-the-art outdoor hitting facility down the third base line and within the next year full infield turf is a part of the scheduled improvements to keep the Maverick Baseball team a top Athletic Complex among the state.

INDOOR HITTING FACILITY

Next to the field is an Indoor Hitting Facility. The indoor consist of three large cages, that can be split in half to make a total of 6 cages. Each large cage is equipped with large hitters mats, hack-attack machine, and batter's eye so our athletes can get optimal work in during practice time, bad weather, or on their own whenever they want. Pitchers also utilize the indoor in the wintertime to throw bullpens.

WEIGHT ROOM

The Mavs weight room is a large facility that gives our team plenty of room to use while also having all the necessary equipment to make large gains in both strength and speed. The facility includes five olympic lift platforms, 200 meter track, 10-95 lb. dumbbells, and multiple machines. The philosophy of the NOC Tonkawa strength and conditioning program is to provide a structured, sport-specific, training program that utilizes a combination of functional training, olympic lifting, power and speed development, and flexibility training. The Mavericks offseason programs are extremely intensive programs that concentrate on strength, power, agility, speed, core, and flexibility.
