Mavs rout Jets, earn series sweep

ENID, Oklahoma --  The NOC Mavs completed a three game sweep of NOC Enid Sunday with a 14-5 drubbing of the Jets at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.

The Mavs (38-17) finished the conference season at 19-11, good enough for second place in the West Division.  NOC Enid (33-22, 17-13) finished third in the West Division.

The Mavs scored early and often on Sunday as the Mavs led 12-4 after three innings and never looked back in the 14-5 win.

Landen Johnson continued his hot hitting with four hits including a home run and four runs batted in.  Luke Shannahan added three hits including a home run and three runs batted in while Blade Carver added a two run blast for the Mavs.

Ethan Rossi had two doubles and two runs batted in while Carson Taylor added two hits in a 17 hit attack.

Liam McKinney started for the Mavs with relief help from Brendon Carter, Cale Schroeder, and Brenden Kamnick.  Carter, Schroeder, and Kamnick allowed just one unearned run in 6.1 innings of relief.

The Mavs face ASU Mountain Home at 4 p.m. Thursday in Enid in the first round of the Region 2 Tournament.
