Mavs sweep Northland in Sunday twinbill

The Northern Oklahoma College Baseball team swept Northland Community Technical College 8-7 and 12-2 Sunday at Mavericks Field.

The Sunday series completed a brutal six games in three days for the 4th ranked Mavs (21-4).

"The past weekend was a great learning experience for our club," said coach Ryan Bay.  "Playing six games in three days is pretty taxing on players physically and mentally. Hopefully the experience will sharpen us and show dividends at the end of the season."

In Game 1, the trailed 7-3 before rallying over the last two innings to win 8-7.

Hayden Priest had three hits and three runs batted in while Jaken Snider had two runs batted in.

Jackie Robinson earned the win with two scoreless innings in back of Clayton SolomonJosh Bumgarner earned the save for the Mavs.

In Game 2, the Mavs won 12-2 by run-rule, AJ Moore allowed two runs over four innings to earn the win.

Bryan Burgos and Snider had two hits each while Snider, Sean Klein and Holden Bartosovsky had two runs batted in each.
