ENID, Oklahoma --  The 10th ranked NOC Tonkawa Mavericks dropped two games at NOC Enid Wednesday afternoon.

The Mavs (32-9) lost 17-5 and 11-7.  The Mavs dropped to 3-3 in Region 2 play.

Jets 17, Mavs 5

Things looked good for the Mavericks early as NOC Tonkawa scored three first inning runs on a three run home run by Joey Pena.

But the Jets then scored 17 unanswered runs to win 17-5.

The Mavs scored two runs in the 5th when Pena doubled home Cacy Harper and then Cale Francis singled home Pena for the Mavs' fifth run.

Tyler Kisner (6-1) suffered the loss allowing four earned runs on seven hits.

Jets 11, Mavs 7

The Mavs got behind the eight-ball early as the Jets scored six runs in the first inning in an 11-7 win over the Mavs.

After trailing 8-0 after four innings, the Mavs chipped away scoring seven runs in a four inning span.

Pena, Dominick Trevino, Ashton Francis, and Cale Francis had doubles for the Mavs while Luke Quick added a triple.

Jaken Snider suffered the loss allowing six unearned runs in the first inning on three hits.

The Mavs travel back to Enid Sunday for the conclusion of the four game region 2 series.  First pitch is at 2 p.m.

The games were set for Saturday in Tonkawa but impending rain forced the schedule adjustment.
