The 10th ranked NOC Tonkawa Mavericks swept Murray State Friday 14-0 and 7-3 Friday at Maverick Field.

NOC (32-7) won three of four against the Aggies in the Region 2 series opener.

Mavs 14, Murray 0

Joey Pena homered and drove in five runs while Trevin Michael pitched a two-hit shut out as NOC Tonkawa routed Murray 14-0 on Friday.

Ben MacNaughton added three hits and three runs batted in for the Mavs while Cale Francis had two hits including a double and three runs batted in.  Dominick Trevino added two hits and three runs scored.

Michael was dominant in the five inning run-rule win allowing just two hits over five innings striking out four.

The Mavs scored nine runs in the 2nd inning and coasted to the 14-0 win.

Mavs 7, Murray 3

The Mavs rallied from a 3-1 deficit to complete the sweep over Murray State Friday afternoon.

NOC Tonkawa used six singled and a Cacy Harper double to manufacture seven runs.  MacNaughton, Cale Francis and Austin Glock had one run batted in each while Pena added two runs driven in.

Chase Bridges relieved Seth Martin in the 4th inning and tossed 3.1 innings of two-hit baseball striking out three.  Zach Stephenson and Bryson Armstrong finished the 8th and 9th for the Mavs.

The Mavs travel to Enid Wednesday for a doubleheader against the Jets at 2 p.m.  The Mavs host the Jets Saturday at 1 p.m. in Tonkawa.
