Kade Marlatt homered and doubled but it was not enough as the #16 Northern Oklahoma College Mavericks lost to North Iowa Area Community College 8-6 Monday in Tonkawa.

Marlatt's solo home run came in the 4^th inning, his two run double in the 7^th.  Joey Pena's two run single also came in the 7^th as the Mavs cut a 6-1 deficit to 6-5.

The Mavs trailed 8-5 in the 9^th and cut the lead to 8-6 as Cacy Harper scored on a passed ball but the Mavs could get no closer.

Pena and Marlatt had two hits each for NOC (21-5).

Trevin Michael (3-1) was the starter for the Mavs allowing two earned runs over six innings.

NOC travels to Northwestern in Alva for a Sunday double header.
