Mavs sweep NEO in Sunday twinbill

The NOC Mavs swept NEO Sunday afternoon at Maverick Field.

NOC (5-0-1) won the first game by a 10-0 run rule and then rallied to win the second game 5-4.

Game 1

Sophomore lefthander Tyler Kisner (2-0) was masterful on the mound scattering six hits over five innings.  He struck out six and walked two.

Kisner picked up all the run support he needed when the Mavs scored eight runs in the fourth against the Norse.

Joey Pena led a nine hit attack with three hits including a double and two runs batted in.

Ben MacNaughton, Dominick Trevino, and Luke Quick had two hits each.

Game 2

The Mavs rallied from a 3-0 deficit to win 5-4 over NEO sweeping the two game set.

Luke Quick's double scored Ashton Francis in the 6th inning breaking a 4-4 tie to give the Mavs the 5-4 win.

Eric Gutierrez had two hits for the Mavs while MacNaughton and Trevino scored two runs each.

Ethan Wilson picked up the win in relief tossing two scoreless innings striking out three. 

Trevin Michael was the starter allowing four runs on seven hits.

The Mavs travel to Bacone on Tuesday.
