NOC season ends in Region 2 Tournament

ENID, Oklahoma --  The NOC Mavericks baseball season came to an end at the hands of Carl Albert  Friday afternoon in the OG&E Region II Division 2 Baseball Tournament at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.

The Vikings scored all the runs they needed in a six run second and then held off the Mavs with a 6-5 win.

Carl Albert touched Mavs starter Korde Busby for six runs on six hits putting the Mavs in a tough hole to overcome.

NOC battled back with three runs in the third on a Kade Marlatt homerun and then a two-run double by Chris Cloud.

A Kris Perez fourth inning single scored Marlatt and NOC had cut the lead to 6-4.

NOC would cut the Viking lead to 6-5 in the seventh when Tanner Long singled home Gabe Griffith and the Mavs were within striking distance.

The Mavs would not have another baserunner the rest of the way and the Mavs season was over.

Cloud and Dominick Trevino had two hits each for the Mavs, Marlatt scored two runs for NOC.

Tyler Kisner was outstanding in relief allowing just six hits in 6.2 innings.

NOC ended their season at 42-15-1.
