Mavs hit eight home runs in sweep of Northland

The NOC Mavericks hit eight home runs in a double header sweep of Northland College Saturday at NOC.

The Mavericks (18-1) have won 10 straight.

In Game 1, Chris Cloud, Gabe Griffith and Kade Marlatt all homered.  Cloud also had two doubles and five rbi's on his way to a four hit day in a 16-6 win over Northland.

Griffith also had four hits including a triple and three runs scored.

Jack Edmunson (3-0) navigated the gusty south winds for the win allowing two earned runs on five hits in four innings of work. 

In a wild Game 2, the Mavs outlasted Northland 18-16.  NOC out hit Northland 15-8 but Northland used nine walks to earn 16 runs.

NOC used a Grand Slam from Joey Pena and other blasts from Griffith, Long and Perez.  Pena had five rbi's for the Mavs.  Perez and Cloud added three rbi's each.

The Mavs had three hits each from Marlatt, Pena, Griffith and Austin Glock.

Britt Brown earned the win out of the Mav bullpen with Tannery Long earning the save.
