19th ranked Cougars take first half control cruising to 88-60 win over NOC-Tonkawa in home Classic #GoBarton

The 19th ranked Barton Community College men's basketball team turned a six-point lead after ten minutes to a seventeen-point halftime advantage before widening its final margin in second half play for an 88-60 victory over Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa to conclude day one of the Best Western Angus Inn/Cougar Booster Club Classic

Moving to 4-0 on the year, Barton will wind up the Classic in Saturday evening's 7:30 p.m. contest versus Northern Oklahoma College-Enid as the Jets slipped to 1-3 following a 74-61 loss to Hutchinson Community College in the earlier contest. NOC-Tonkawa drops to 3-2 and will look to regroup against the 4-0 Blue Dragons in the 3:00 p.m. contest.

Ring Malith led five Cougars in double-figures, scoring 11 of his 16 points in second half action helping Barton outscore the Mavericks by eleven in the final period.

Brent Moss came off the bench in posting his third double-double in four games to begin his collegiate career, scoring 10 points and grabbing 12 rebounds helping Barton to a plus-10 edge on the glass.

A pair of Cougars just missed double-doubles, Myles Thompson just falling short of his second straight by finishing with 14 points and 9 rebounds and Lajae Jones racking up 13 points to go along with 9 boards.

Joining Moss in helping Barton to a 24-point differential coming off the bench, Christian Bowen-Webb lit up the arc on 4-of-6 long distance shooting for 12 points in rounding out the double-digit scorers.

Mozae Downing-Rivers and Amiri Ndayisaba led the distribution with four assists each in combining for nine points and two steals.

The Mavericks had just one reaching the double-figure scoring mark in being led by Javontae Campbell's 20 points with 8 rebounds and 4 steals while Jordan Gorecki took home game high rebound honors with 13.
