It was a stress-free weekend for the Scottie Women's Basketball team as they cruised past Northern Oklahoma College- Tonkawa 85-56 Friday afternoon and Missouri Baptist University JV 134-45.

The Scotties had an early 12:00pm tip-off Friday afternoon but were not knocked out of rhythm as they jumped out to a 28-12 lead in the first quarter.

They continued to dominate through the second quarter outscoring the Mavericks by 17 points in the quarter and only allowing seven points to be scored by the opponent. Highland took a 52-19 lead into halftime.

From halftime on the Scotties were in cruise control and went on to win 85-56.

The relentless Highland defense forced 26 turnovers and had 14 steals in the game.

Mariane De Caravalho and
Berniezha Tidwell led the Scotties in scoring with 16-points apiece.
Blaize Burgess added 11 and
Niccolly Ramalho put up 10-points. Highland shot 45% from the floor and 33% from behind the arc.

Saturday vs Missouri Baptist- Win 134-45
Â
The Scotties continued their strong defensive play into Saturday's game forcing 37 turnovers and capturing 28 steals.
Â
That strong defense led to a number of easy buckets as Highland sailed by the Spartans and won by a spread of 89 points.

The Scotties were led by sophomore transfer
Berniezha Tidwell who dropped 31 points on 13-18 shooting and had five steals.
Mariane De Caravalho scored 24 points, six rebounds and had five assists and three steals.
Kamryn Lemon had a great game missing only one shot on the day and finishing with 18 points.
Niccolly Ramalho had 16 points, six steals, five assists and five rebounds while
Sydney Brinlee had her second double-double of the season finishing with 14 points and 10 boards. She also contributed four steals.

Highland is now 3-0 and will be back at home this coming Thursday and Friday as they take on Native Dream and Grand View University JV. Both games will be a 7:00pm tip-off in Ben Allen Field House.
